AVTE&Subtle meet with ZOO Digital – Communique
05/10/16. On 12th Sept. 2016, representatives of the AudioVisual Translators Europe Federation (AVTE) met with Gordon Doran, President of ZOO Digital, in Amsterdam.
Based on the information and initiative of Subtle, the British Subtitlers’ Association, a member of AVTE, both parties discussed payment issues, rates and communication problems as well as related quality issues reported by translators working for ZOO Digital.
Mr. Doran expressed the company’s clear determination to remedy the situation without delay and improve communication with freelancers. AVTE representatives were happy to hear about ZOO Digital’s intention to adopt a completely new approach and adhere to professional standards in their cooperation with freelancers. As part of their aim to establish a common set of quality standards and working practices AVTE expressed their keen willingness to share their expertise and the parties agreed that a continued dialogue would be beneficial to all.
